Saudi Arabia introduces mandatory tests for skilled workers

To ensure the expertise of skilled workers in the Saudi labor market, the HRSD Ministry has launched the “Professional Verification” program under which doctors, engineers, accountants, technicians, and paramedical staff will have to pass an exam for the Iqama renewal. It is launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

 

Objectives of the program 

The program aims to verify that all proficient workers in the Saudi Arabia have the essential    skills to accomplish the tasks they are required to. 

For all particular profession only skilled or employees will be recruited.

It will fulfill the need of every vacant post with the appropriate skilled labour.

Examination content

The professional verification will include pragmatic and hypothetical scrutiny in the employees  niche field. 

The scrutiny for the program will be done from their respective home country before their        arrival in the province. 

The program aims to examine the existing employees to know their calibre as well. 

Professions will be tested?

The program aims to target more than 1,000 professions belonging mainly related to the  following bodies-

Accounts-related professions registered with SOCPA 

Engineers and technicians registered with Saudi Council of Engineers . 

Doctors and Paramedical staff registered with SCFHS. 

Benefits of the program

The professional verification program will improve the country’s economy as there will be        only skilled employees.

The decision will allow only expertise to pass the examination and meet the standards of the    current labour market. Only people who are professional in their field of work will be able to    receive a national professional license. 

This program will improve Saudization in the private sector as only workers who are skilled enough will qualify the examinations.

Labour exploitation will become less due to increase in standards of profession

It will help in improving national economy too because unskilled workers won't be a part of      it.
