Experience Details

Working knowledge of hazardous and waste materials found in the industrial environment, and some experience in evaluating and controlling the magnitude of hazards caused by these   substances.

Experience in ISO 14001 compliance and auditing.

5 – 7 years of experience in the environmental planning.

Project management / construction monitoring experience is an advantage.

Experience in marine environmental

Involvement in developing or conducting an Environmental Impact assessment

Role

·     Ensure and enforce contractors compliance with ISO 14001,  KAUST Environmental management procedures and local Saudi Laws.

·     Review Environmental plans and provide feedback for improvements.

·     Developing and maintaining the standardized operational procedures in accordance with the environmental compliance, interpreting the environmental disturbance risks, and communicating with environmental regulatory authorities for compliance assistance.

·     Provide updates to KPID management and KAUST HSE department regarding environmental compliance.

·     Create and develop environmental awareness presentations to safety teams, project management and contractors

·     Keep updated with environmental regulatory bodies for project compliance.

·     Inspecting and evaluating the proceedings of organizational facilities with regards to compliance laws and regulations and KAUST policies and procedures.

·     Updating plans and specifications for managing the hazardous chemical substances, review of  backup plans in case of emergencies, like accidental spillage, and provide awareness training to the constructors to handle the cleanup procedure with safety

·     Assisting reviewing and commenting on preparation of emergency preparedness training for workers and employees, conducting workshop and seminars for training purposes, and developing the emergency management exercise.

·     Developing the management information systems for identifying the location of potentially hazardous materials, and tracking the maintenance operation of the same

·     Managing the contractor’s environmental plans and providing areas of improvement.

·     Monthly, weekly and adhoc Inspections to ensure the contractor is Maintaining all the records of process, handing, and shipment of the hazardous material, tracking its location and disposal details if required, and coordinate with the regulatory authorities regarding the same
